The core business is stable and profitable (couponing) and the emphasis is now on adapting and integrating digital products offered in the US across Europe.
Purpose of Role
Valassis Europe would like to recruit a new role to establish a new line of business, that of the issuance (vs. redemption) of digital offers, and specifically as they relate to mobile (smartphone) applications.
This will initially require an opportunity assessment phase as the potential of this particular market is yet to be proven.
Valassis UK believes there is an opportunity to offer a white label solution to low involvement retailers an issuance and redemption platform for location based digital coupons on smartphones.
This role would be dedicated to exploring and developing digital opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Refine sales strategy and adopt a “hands-on” approach to business development, organizing and leading sales presentation meetings with target clients.
Develop and refine solution with target clients and other key stakeholders.
Achieve customer acquisition and revenue goals based on 5 year business plan
Monitoring and understanding the digital market
Skills, Experience and Profile
Essential
5 years business experience and 2 years + business development experience within the digital, ideally smartphone space with a proven track record of solution / consultative selling through to Director level.
First class verbal and written communication skills
Highly persuasive and articulate
Socially confident
Solid numeracy with excellent commercial and business sense
Highly enthusiastic and motivated
Educated to College level
Entrepreneurial self-starter with proven ability to organise own schedule and priorities.
Responsible, punctual, good attention to detail
Desirable
Educated to University level.
Strong partnering experience i.e. needs to work well with Geocast
Experience within digital and / or mobile marketing environments
Existing contacts within relevant organisations
